The Dropbox integration

The Dropbox integration lets you upload and store property videos directly in your Dropbox account. When you add a video to a listing, the file is uploaded to Dropbox, and a shareable link is generated automatically so the video can be displayed on property websites and download pages.

Before You Start

You will need a Dropbox account with enough storage for your video files. Any Dropbox plan will work, including the free tier, though professional plans offer more storage for larger video libraries.

Dropbox is connected at the organization level, so all team members in your organization share the same Dropbox connection.

Connecting Dropbox

  1. In Photeria, go to Settings from the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Integrations tab at the top of the page.
  3. Find the Dropbox card.
  4. Click the Connect to Dropbox button.
  5. A Dropbox sign-in window will open. Log in to your Dropbox account (or choose an account if you are already signed in).
  6. Review the permissions and click Allow to grant Photeria access.
  7. You will be redirected back to the Integrations tab with a success message: "Dropbox connected successfully."

Once connected, the card will display the email address of the linked Dropbox account.

How Videos Are Stored

When you upload a video to a listing, Photeria sends the file to your connected Dropbox account and stores it in a structured folder:

/Photeria (do not delete)/YYYY/MM/[listing-id]/[filename]

For example, a video uploaded in March 2026 would go into /Photeria (do not delete)/2026/03/. Each listing gets its own subfolder so your files stay organized.

After the upload completes, Photeria creates a public shared link for the video. This link is used to display the video on property websites and download pages. Please do not rename or move files inside the "Photeria (do not delete)" folder, as this will break the shared links.

Uploading Videos to a Listing

With Dropbox connected, you can upload videos directly from the listing detail page:

  1. Open a listing and scroll to the Videos section.
  2. Click Add Video.
  3. In the dialog, use the Upload tab to drag and drop a video file or click to browse your computer.
  4. The video will upload to Dropbox and appear on the listing once the upload is complete.
  5. You can also add videos by pasting a URL (for example, a YouTube or Vimeo link) using the URL tab in the same dialog.
  6. Large files are uploaded in chunks, so you can upload videos up to several gigabytes without running into browser timeouts.

Deleting Videos

When you remove a video from a listing in Photeria, the corresponding file in your Dropbox account is also deleted automatically. This keeps your Dropbox storage clean and in sync with your listings.

Disconnecting Dropbox

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. On the Dropbox card, click the Disconnect button.
  3. Confirm the disconnection.

Disconnecting removes the OAuth tokens stored in Photeria. Your files in Dropbox are not deleted. However, any videos on listings that were hosted through Dropbox will continue to use their existing shared links (as long as the files remain in your Dropbox).

After disconnecting, the video upload feature on listings will be unavailable until you reconnect Dropbox or your organization's admin reconnects it.

Troubleshooting

"Dropbox connection expired" error when uploading

Your Dropbox authorization may have been revoked or expired. Go to Settings > Integrations and reconnect Dropbox.

"Sharing permissions not available" error

Photeria needs permission to create shared links for uploaded videos. Make sure your Dropbox account allows shared links. Some Dropbox team accounts restrict sharing. Check with your Dropbox admin if you are on a team plan.

Upload seems stuck or times out

Very large files are uploaded in 4 MB chunks. If your internet connection is slow, large uploads may take a while. Try uploading on a faster connection, or check that Dropbox is not running out of storage space.

I do not see the Upload tab when adding a video

If Dropbox is not connected, the upload option will prompt you to connect Dropbox first, with a link to the Settings page. Ask your organization admin to connect Dropbox under Settings > Integrations.
