Photeria Billing: Managing Your Payment Method
Photeria uses Stripe to securely process all payments. You can add or change your payment card directly from the Billing page. This guide shows you how to manage your payment method.
Supported Card Types
Photeria accepts the following card brands:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
- Diners Club
- JCB
- UnionPay
Viewing Your Current Card
To see which card is on file, go to Admin > Billing and look at the Payment Method card on the right side of the page. If you have a card saved, you will see:
- The card brand logo (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
- The last four digits of the card number
- The expiration date
If no card is on file, you will see a message that reads "No card on file. Add a payment method to continue using Photeria."
Adding a Payment Method
If you do not have a card on file yet:
- Go to Admin > Billing
- In the Payment Method card, click the Add Card button
- A dialog titled "Add Payment Method" will open
- The dialog explains: "Add a card to enable automatic billing for your Photeria account."
- Enter your card details in the Stripe payment form
- Click Save Card
- You will see a green "Card Saved!" confirmation once it is successfully added
Changing Your Payment Method
To replace your current card with a new one:
- Go to Admin > Billing
- In the Payment Method card, click the Change Card button
- A dialog titled "Change Payment Method" will open
- The dialog explains: "Enter your new card details below. This will replace your current card on file."
- Enter your new card details in the Stripe payment form
- Click Save Card
- The new card will replace your previous card immediately
Security and Privacy
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. Photeria never sees or stores your full card number. When you enter your card details, you are interacting directly with Stripe's secure payment form. You will see a "Secured by Stripe" notice below the payment form.
What Happens After Adding a Card
Once you save a card, it becomes the default payment method for your organization. Here is what to expect:
- Automatic billing: Your card will be charged automatically at the end of each billing cycle
- Outstanding invoices: If you had any unpaid invoices when you added or changed your card, Stripe will automatically retry charging those invoices
- Suspended accounts: If your account was suspended due to failed payments, adding a valid card will trigger an automatic retry. Once the outstanding balance is paid, your account is restored to active status.
Troubleshooting
"Failed to load payment form"
If you see this error when trying to add or change a card, click the Retry button that appears below the error message. If the problem persists, check your internet connection or try again later.
Card declined
If your card is declined during a payment attempt, you will see an error message from Stripe explaining the reason. Common causes include insufficient funds, expired cards, or cards that require additional verification. Try a different card or contact your bank.
Who can manage payment methods?
Only team members with the billing.manage permission can add or change the payment method. If you do not see the Billing page in the sidebar, or if you cannot interact with the payment form, contact your organization administrator to get the right permissions.
