Photos are the heart of any listing.
This guide covers how to upload images, reorder them, manage visibility, set up the hero slideshow, and use bulk actions to work efficiently.
Uploading Photos
- Navigate to your listing and expand the Images section.
- Click the Add images card at the end of the image grid. This opens the image upload dialog.
- You can add images in two ways:
- Drag and drop files directly onto the upload area.
- Click Browse Files to select images from your computer.
- Supported formats include JPG, PNG, and WebP.
- A progress dialog will appear showing the upload status of each file. Once all images are uploaded, they will appear in your image grid.
Behind the scenes, Photeria automatically generates three variants of each image: a full-resolution version, a web-optimized version, and a thumbnail. This ensures your property website loads quickly while still offering high-quality downloads.
Reordering Photos
The order of your photos matters because it determines how they appear on the property website and in the gallery.
Single Image Reordering
Click and drag any image by hovering over it and dragging it to a new position in the grid. Release it where you want it to land.
Multi-Image Reordering
You can move multiple images at once:
- Select the images you want to move by clicking on them (a checkbox will appear).
- Drag any one of the selected images to the desired position.
- All selected images will move together, maintaining their relative order.
The Cover Image
The first visible image in your gallery automatically becomes the cover image (also called the hero image). It appears at the top of the listing detail page and is used as the listing's thumbnail on the Listings grid.
To change the cover image, simply drag a different photo to the first position in the grid.
Managing Image Visibility
Sometimes you want to keep an image uploaded but hide it from the property website. Each image has a visibility toggle:
- Hover over an image to reveal its action menu.
- Click the eye icon to toggle visibility on or off.
- Hidden images remain in your gallery but will not appear on the public property website.
Renaming Images
- Hover over an image to reveal its action menu.
- Click the rename option.
- Type the new file name and confirm.
This is helpful for organizing your downloads and keeping file names consistent.
Deleting Images
Deleting a Single Image
- Hover over the image you want to remove.
- Click the trash icon in the action menu.
- The image and all of its variants (full, web, thumbnail) will be permanently removed from storage.
Bulk Deleting Images
- Select multiple images by clicking on them.
- A selection toolbar will appear at the top showing how many images are selected.
- Click the Delete button on the toolbar.
- All selected images will be permanently removed.
Bulk Downloading Images
- Select the images you want to download by clicking on them.
- Click the Download button on the selection toolbar.
- If you selected a single image, it will download directly. If you selected multiple images, they will be packaged into a ZIP file and downloaded automatically.
Selecting and Deselecting Images
- Select all - Click the "Select All" option in the selection toolbar to select every image in the gallery.
- Clear selection - Click "Clear Selection" to deselect everything.
- Individual selection - Click on any image to toggle its selection.
Managing the Hero Slideshow
The hero section at the top of the property website can display a slideshow of images. The slideshow pulls from a curated set of images that you choose.
Setting Up the Slideshow
- Expand the Hero section in the listing detail page.
- Make sure the Slideshow tab is selected (you can also choose Video for a video hero).
- Click the + button to open the image picker.
- Select the images you want to include in the slideshow.
- The selected images will appear in the slideshow manager with numbered positions.
Reordering Slideshow Images
Drag and drop images within the slideshow manager to change their order. The first image in the slideshow is displayed first when the page loads.
Removing Images from the Slideshow
Click the X button on any image in the slideshow manager to remove it from the slideshow. This does not delete the image from your gallery.
Using a Video Hero Instead
- Switch to the Video tab in the Hero section.
- Paste a YouTube, Vimeo, or direct MP4 URL into the Video URL field.
- The video will play muted on loop when visitors view the property website.
